Contract Note

A confirming note, containing details of a stock exchange deal, which is sent by a broker to a client. The contract note shows: the date and time of deal, the title of the security, the number bought/sold, the price paid/received, the total value of the deal, the stamp duty (if a purchase of shares), and the amount of commission charged by the broker. Traditionally, contract notes were posted, but are now often emailed.

But shares may also be traded directly between parties and a lot of shares are registred but not listed and some are not listed at all.

Below you will find a template for use under circumstances where a broker is not involved.
